Join us at Roots on June 12 at 6 PM for a cooking class with Le Cordon Bleu trained chef, Beto Omana! Step into the heart of Italian comfort cuisine in this master class dedicated to the art of risotto. Designed for home cooks and culinary enthusiasts alike, this class explores the rich, creamy world of risotto from grain to plate, with a special focus on technique, timing, and the foundational flavors that bring it all together.

A well-crafted stock is integral to the risotto’s depth of flavor. In this class, we’ll also provide a brief yet informative overview of homemade chicken and beef stocks—their components, simmering times, and how to extract rich, clean flavors. You’ll learn when and why to use chicken versus beef stock and how homemade stock elevates your risotto beyond store-bought alternatives.

We're excited to have Healthy Harvest of North Iowa in attendance to teach us about ways we can find ingredients locally!

Attendees will receive the recipe and a meal of their own to enjoy during the event (BYO drink -- wine is fine!) You'll go home knowing new kitchen techniques and with a delicious new recipe in your back pocket.
